About The Position
Plans, supervises, and coordinates construction projects, ensuring quality control and safety. This role involves managing trade partners, overseeing schedules and budgets, and handling the entire home-building process from permitting to warranty. The Construction Manager acts as the primary on-site representative, implementing compliance programs and communicating with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of home construction.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement adjustments to architectural and structural blueprints, off-site improvement plans & soils reports.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and all scopes of work.
- Familiarity in BuildPro and Hyphen.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
- 1-2 years of relevant construction experience or education preferred.
- 1 year of relevant construction experience or assistant CM preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plans, supervises, and coordinates construction, including quality control and safety.
- Manages trade partners and consultants, inspects work, and approves payments.
- Ensures adherence to contracts and provides input on trade partner selection.
- Manages safety for self and oversees employees to ensure safe working practices.
- Evaluates safety violations and takes appropriate action.
- Manages work against benchmarks and timetables to ensure on-schedule and on-budget performance.
- Plans and coordinates project starts and modifies schedules as needed.
- Manages the home-building process from permitting to home delivery and first-year warranty.
- Implements and monitors compliance with Jobsite programs, scopes of work, and regulations (building codes, environmental laws, SWIPP, health and safety).
- Acts as the primary on-site representative with third parties.
- Manages daily site logistics to ensure harmonious contractor work.
- Stages jobs by determining delivery timing, work sequencing, and option installation.
- Verifies prior work completion to high standards.
- Communicates with sales, purchasing, homeowners, consultants, trades, building officials, and customer care.
