Functions within the group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start-up and decommissioning, and field engineering. The project is located near Clifton, KS, in Washington County. It involves a brownfield facility, a simple-cycle dual-fired power plant with an output of approximately 100 MW. The project scope includes the installation of three (3) Solar Titan 350 combustion turbine generators and associated balance-of-plant (BOP) materials and equipment. This project will replace the existing power plant capacity with new CTGs and BOP equipment, which will be located outdoors within proper enclosures. Construction site mobilization is planned for early September 2026. The successful candidate will onboard and train a couple of months prior to mobilization. The Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating construction activities on the project, ensuring compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Site Manager. This is a field assignment that requires travel, with daily per diem included.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience.
  • 14+ years construction supervisory experience required, with at least 3 years of previous construction manager experience.
  • OSHA Training
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors contractor activities for compliance with the CPM schedule and contract requirements.
  • Monitors site access coordination.
  • Monitors and reports on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends) to the Project Manager.
  • Monitors project budget and schedule requirements.
  • Monitors contractor schedule recovery plans as required.
  • Participates in Construction Completion Walkdowns and the complete handover of start-up packages to the Startup Manager.
  • Monitors close out of all punch list items.
  • Monitors the Materials Manager to perform periodic field audits to verify proper storage of Owner supplied equipment on a random basis.
  • Participate in the monthly contractor management meeting.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings with contractors.
  • Monitors weekly schedule and commodity installation status.
  • Monitors all extra work authorization requests, back charges, and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests.
  • Monitors the timely response to contractor Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Monitors completion of the construction punch list.
  • Understands the major commercial and deliverable terms of the construction contracts.
  • Reviews the construction portion of the client and monthly construction report.
  • Monitors the Field Engineers or home office engineers on engineering deliverables.
  • Monitors management of construction Manufacturer's Service Technicians and the timesheet tracking.
  • Monitors continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitors the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
  • Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities.
