About The Position

The Construction Manager will join the IDIQ & Construction Services Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This role requires a high standard of quality and professionalism, adherence to all safety policies and procedures, and reports directly to the Construction Field Services Supervisor. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) Apprenticeship program with a minimum of (10) years of related construction experience.
  • Additional relevant education or construction experience may be substituted for any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of ten (10) years.
  • Proficient knowledge of Mechanical systems a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct work of others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of curricula gained through long and varied work experience in field of specialty.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability, along with good communication skills are required.
  • Must be efficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have a valid state drivers license.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client organization.
  • Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical background with strength in rigging, millwright, HVAC, controls, and process piping systems.
  • General with strength in asphalt, concrete, concrete reinforcement, masonry, structural steel, roofing, and interior finishes a plus.
  • Some budget managing of labor hrs.

Responsibilities

  • Daily project scheduling
  • Technical review of submittals
  • Coordination of subcontractor performance and compliance
  • Coordination of facility access, facility activities and outages
  • Responsible for overall daily project safety and success
