About The Position

The Pipeline Environmental Construction Manager will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external resources working to successfully execute the environmental compliance program for Venture Global pipelines during the construction and restoration phases. The Pipeline Environmental Construction Manager must have working knowledge of Federal and Louisiana state regulations. The Manager will work closely with Venture Global internal construction staff and external contractors to ensure that all are aware of our permit obligations and do all that is necessary to ensure compliance with such obligations. This position will be a Contractor role based near Lake Charles, LA.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
  • Ability to work within a team with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • 5 or more years of environmental management experience in industrial construction of gas processing plants or gas transmission projects.
  • Experience working as Client field representative.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • FERC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of Federal, state (Louisiana), and local environmental regulations and project permits and communicate requirements to construction personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, state (Louisiana), and local environmental regulations and project permits.
  • Manage and mentor team(s) of environmental inspectors (EIs) to ensure compliance with Federal, state (Louisiana), and local environmental regulations and project permits.
  • Attend agency inspections and audits as Company environmental representative.
  • Inspect active construction activities and restored areas and provide recommendations and guidance, as needed.
  • Prepare required reports to support compliance.
  • Provide environmental compliance updates to environmental and construction management.
  • Review work progress and monitor environmental impact and compliance.
  • Serve as the environmental point of contact and respond to work delays, emergencies, and other environmental problems that may arise during construction activities.
  • Manage environmental data and associated databases.
  • Prepare and provide appropriate environmental training to project staff.
  • Conduct internal audits of environmental management activities.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
