Construction Manager II

About The Position

This construction management position reports to senior/lead construction management staff and is responsible for project duties on multiple small-to-medium projects or one large project. The role works with engineers, construction office staff, field inspection staff, and resident project representatives (RPRs). It includes construction inspection, field-team direction, project coordination, documentation, and support for the Construction Manager. The position also includes the duties of Construction Manager 1, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

2–5 years of field experience in construction or construction management.
Ability to read plans and specifications.
Good communication skills.
Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) from CMAA; ability to obtain CMIT certification from CMAA is also listed as a job requirement.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering or Construction Management.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to use Microsoft programs and other programs as assigned.
Willingness to travel.
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must pass an OSHA safety course as part of training for jobsite visits.

Responsibilities

Perform construction inspection duties on assigned projects and lead inspection on a single project.
Direct inspectors and field staff.
Work with engineers during construction.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineers.
Complete daily construction reports and other documentation as assigned by the Construction Manager.
Assist the Construction Manager as assigned.
Understand project budgets and cost assignments.
Attend outside training, such as OSHA and ACI training.
Perform all duties of Construction Manager 1.
Perform other duties as assigned.
