About The Position

The Construction Manager oversees construction activities on a construction project and serves as the lead representative to the owner’s interests on the construction contract. This involves functioning as the liaison between the owner, prime contractor, subcontractor(s) and responsible for all construction related activity through duration of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study.
  • 5+ years’ construction management experience in heavy civil construction, construction management, facilities, or related industry.
  • Experience overseeing construction projects involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, fire protection, and building automation systems within commercial, municipal, or aviation environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and cost estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the owner’s quality control consultant by ensuring work, inspections, and reporting are accurate and compliant with project requirements; review and sign off on reports.
  • Oversee and track day-to-day construction activities, including civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work; monitor progress to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate site visits and project walk-throughs with owners, stakeholders, airport representatives, consultants, contractors, and other interested parties.
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, including schedule reviews, risk assessments, and variance reporting.
  • Facilitate and coordinate required inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and regulatory signoffs throughout all phases of construction, including MEP systems.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and lead pre-construction, next-phase, and stakeholder coordination meetings to ensure project readiness and alignment.
  • Review and approve contractor work completion, validate progress against contract requirements, and support monthly payment applications, budget tracking, expense allocation, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality control, safety compliance, and coordination among multiple trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty systems.
  • Attend owner and stakeholder meetings and provide project status updates, schedule reporting, budget summaries, and issue resolution recommendations.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch list management, testing and commissioning, turnover documentation, and owner acceptance of facilities and MEP systems.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
