About The Position

The Construction Containment Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining containment measures during construction, renovation, and maintenance activities within a healthcare setting. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations, infection control standards, and overall cleanliness standards to protect patients, staff, and visitors from potential hazards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, environmental services, or a related field, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, infection control practices, and healthcare facility protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing work environment.
• Ability to complete tasks as required with limited or no supervision.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Comfortable using a ladder and working above your head, occasionally within tight, confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications in construction safety, infection control, or hazardous material handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain proper containment barriers, including walls, doors, and signage, in areas undergoing construction or renovation.
• Collaborate with infection control teams to adhere to protocols that minimize airborne contaminants and maintain a sterile environment.
• Safely manage and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Regularly inspect containment areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any breaches or issues to management.
• Work closely with construction teams, facility management, and healthcare staff to coordinate containment efforts and minimize disruption to hospital operations.
• Additional Responsibilities as assigned.
