About The Position
The Construction & Maintenance Technician role is an introduction to a long career with us. We offer paid training and varied settings daily. You will find the workday interesting as you provide labor support for construction, maintenance, installation and emergency response on our gas distribution/transmission lines.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Construction & Maintenance Tech: 0 years of experience and the ability to obtain and maintain a New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 1 year of hire through company-provided paid training
- Sr. Construction & Maintenance Tech: 3 years of experience, a CDL, and Journeyman Gas Fitter’s License (JGL) dependent on location
Responsibilities
- Prepare job sites for safe operation
- Frequent work around live gas mains and services performing taps, stop-offs, or tie-ins.
- Excavate site using manual tools, excavating machinery, and shoring following all safety procedures
- Installation and maintenance of steel pipe or non-steel systems Polyethylene (PE) plastic pipe utilizing heat fusion/electrofusion.
- Perform various safety tests, including pressure tests, on gas pipelines.
- Operate and perform preventative and corrective inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
