About The Position

Aligned Talent Acquisition is continually seeking experienced Construction Litigation Associate Attorneys for opportunities with Am Law 50, Am Law 100, Am Law 200, regional, and boutique law firms throughout the Chicago market. This role involves representing owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, insurers, or sureties in complex construction disputes. The practice area offers diverse, high-value commercial disputes, the opportunity to represent nationally recognized developers and contractors, significant courtroom and arbitration experience, early client responsibility, and litigation strategy. There is strong long-term demand across private practice and industry.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of construction litigation experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience handling disputes involving construction defects, delays, design errors, payment disputes, mechanic's liens, surety claims, and contract disputes
  • Experience representing developers, owners, contractors, design professionals, insurers, or sureties
  • Experience with litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution
  • Strong experience drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and trial materials
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AIA contracts and complex commercial construction projects is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing early client responsibility and litigation strategy.

Benefits

  • Compensation $220,000 – $365,000+
