About The Position

Great Plains Underground Construction is seeking a full-time, year-round Construction Laborer to join their team. This role involves building infrastructure by installing and replacing fiber-optic and utility lines, operating heavy equipment such as trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks, and locating underground utilities. The position requires physical labor, including digging, moving materials, and regularly lifting heavy loads between 100 and 130 pounds. Safety is a top priority, and crew members must follow company safety policies.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to operate construction equipment competently.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 130 lbs frequently throughout your shift.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Readiness for consistent overtime and weekly overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Install and replace vital fiber-optic and utility lines using maps and staking sheets.
  • Drive and operate trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks.
  • Identify and dig around existing underground utility lines safely.
  • Dig, move materials, and lift heavy loads between 100 and 130 pounds regularly.
  • Follow company safety policies to ensure crew member safety.
