About The Position
Great Plains Underground Construction, based in Creighton, Nebraska, is seeking a Construction Laborer to install and replace communication and utility infrastructure according to staking sheets and maps. Overnight weekly travel is required.
Requirements
- Ability to operate trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks competently and efficiently
- Ability to lift 100 to 130 pounds frequently
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities
- Install a diverse selection of communication and utility infrastructure in the field for communication and utility companies
- Operate construction equipment and hand tools per manufacturer's recommendations, including trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks
- Dig with hand tools and lift heavy loads (100 to 130 lbs) frequently during a work shift
- Locate underground utilities safely both manually and electronically
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures outlined in the GPUC Employee Handbook and Safety Manual
