About The Position

Knik is looking for a Construction Laborer in Kotzebue. This position will be paid Davis Bacon Wages per contract. Responsibilities include assisting in physical tasks wherever and whenever needed, unloading and loading general freight shipments, stacking lumber or wood products, assisting in the placement of SWPPP material, cleaning debris, trash, and hazardous material from the project site, cleaning and maintaining construction equipment, performing roadside maintenance tasks such as trimming trees and clearing shrubs, and operating hand and power tools. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some knowledge of heavy construction equipment
• Demonstrated decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a high-production environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ensures a high level of accuracy
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
• Pre-hire drug test

Responsibilities

• Assist in physical tasks wherever/whenever needed
• Unloading and loading of general freight shipments
• Stack lumber or wood products
• Assist in the placement of SWPPP material
• Clean debris, trash, and hazardous material from the project site
• Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately
• Perform roadside maintenance tasks such as trimming trees and clearing shrubs
• May operate hand and power tools of all types
• Other duties as assigned
