Requirements

1+ years of experience in construction.

Responsibilities

Performs various labor duties around the job-site, as needed.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
Takes actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
Prepares work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering supplies.
Coordinates machine actions with other activities, positions or moves loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
Safely moves dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials using articulated dump trucks.
Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assists other workers.
Operates hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
Controls traffic passing near, in, or around work zones with appropriate training provided.
Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with appropriate training provided.
Digs ditches or trenches, backfills excavations, or compacts and levels earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
Cleans or prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Cleans and prepares sites, digs trenches, sets braces to support the sides of excavations, erects scaffolding, and cleans up rubble and other waste materials.
Loads, unloads, or identifies building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to the appropriate locations.
