About The Position

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is currently seeking a Roadwork Construction Laborer in our Grading and Pipe Division to join our team. This will be a full-time role. This position reports to the Site Foreman. Nights and/or weekends may be required in addition to regular day shifts. General Summary of the Position: Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.

Requirements

Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
Willingness and ability to perform manual work and follow verbal and written instructions.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in road/highway construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for further construction.
Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman.
Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
Material handling and storage.
Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, or Risk Management Director.
