About The Position

LandSouth's internship program gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ground-up multifamily construction and learn what it takes to successfully manage a project. You’ll work with our team to build your knowledge of project management practices, construction processes, and industry-specific software, while gaining exposure to the different areas of construction that come together throughout a project. It’s a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and get a better understanding of what a career in multifamily could look like! Below is a high-level overview of what you will learn over the course of the summer: Preconstruction Explore how conceptual and hard bids are developed Practice performing a material take-off Join the plan review process Safety Participate in a job site safety standdown Complete a mock safety inspection Earn your OSHA 10 certification Office Operations Get certified in Procore project management software Understand the permitting process Attend a project hand-off meeting Field Operations Accompany inspectors on site visits Contribute to schedule review meetings Assist with subcontractor coordination

Requirements

  • Students seeking a career path in the multifamily construction industry (large-scale luxury apartment, affordable housing, and/or senior living).
  • Currently enrolled in a university or trade school program focused on Construction Management or a related field.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Earn your OSHA 10 certification.
