Construction Inspector (Part-time)

About The Position
This position is responsible for ensuring that state and local ordinances and laws are followed. The work consists of technical, planning, and construction-related duties. Success in this position ensures subdivisions, houses, and developments meet all state and local ordinances, drainage is correct, and the location of water/sewer services.
Requirements
- Knowledge of construction methods.
- Knowledge of city ordinances.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of basic principles of civil engineering.
- Knowledge of surveying methods and practices.
- Knowledge of development plans, plats, and maps.
- Knowledge of layout of streets, water and sewer mains, and subdivisions.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- More than three years of related experience required.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Responsibilities
- Inspects project site work.
- Monitors on-going developments.
- Conducts site investigations.
- Investigates needed infrastructure.
- Monitors erosion and sedimentation control.
- Completes work orders.
- Layout of marsh and wetland buffers.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
