At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving. Help ensure Louisiana’s road and bridge projects are built safely, accurately, and in accordance with DOTD standards, specifications, and contract requirements. Construction Inspectors support DOTD Project Engineers and higher-level inspectors by performing field inspections, materials observation, and construction documentation on active roadway, bridge, and drainage projects. No prior construction inspection experience is required — training is provided, with opportunities for career progression and advancement through the Construction Inspector job series. This is an outdoor, physically active role that may involve traffic exposure, varying weather conditions, extended workdays, night work, or changing schedules based on construction needs. Positions are located in Livingston, District 62 Unit 210 and report to the Construction Inspector Supervisor.
