About The Position

ASR International Corporation is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to provide construction inspection and quality assurance support for projects at Laughlin AFB, TX. The Construction Inspector will work closely with the ASR Program Manager and the 47 CES and 47 CONS to ensure construction contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and contract terms across design, construction, and closeout phases.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN
  • Current 2021 or 2024 National Commercial Inspector certification from the International Code Council (ICC) under the B2 category OR a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent on public, private, and/or Federal projects.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 1 (T1) suitability/fitness determination, Common Access Card (CAC), and base access.
  • Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to starting work.

Nice To Haves

  • Current 2021 or 2024 National Commercial Electrical (E2), Mechanical (M2), or Plumbing (P2) Inspector certification from the ICC.
  • AutoCAD Certified Associate (ACA) or higher.
  • E4Clicks Introductory course certificate (AACE International) or higher.
  • Experience performing daily quality assurance site visits and progress documentation on federal construction contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate construction requirements with the Program Manager, 47 CONS, and 47 CES to ensure proper execution of design, construction, and closeout activities.
  • Work with 47 CES to ensure construction contractor compliance with Government-approved plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with construction contractor representatives on site safety, quality control measures and practices, work scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, acceptable work methods, and general contract compliance.
  • Investigate and report controversial situations that have led (or are expected to lead) to formal claims by the construction contractor directly to the COR or CO within one (1) hour of identification or notification.
  • Coordinate with the COR/CO to correct deficiencies, unacceptable material, and controversial situations to ensure contract compliance.
  • Monitor and evaluate construction progress schedules; note daily work progress on AF Form 1477; document delays or other problems that could interfere with construction.
  • Review technical evaluations on proposals and modifications; validate stored materials, daily weather conditions, and reports of material/equipment used; compute periodic payments; and recommend approval/disapproval of contractor submittits and progress schedules.
  • Assist the Program Manager by providing data and information needed to complete required Weekly Activity Reports.
  • Adhere to 32-series Civil Engineer AFIs, USAF CE Playbooks, Whole Building Design Guidelines (WBDG), and other applicable guidance.
