About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management Team in Atlanta, Georgia! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. The Construction Inspector, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA / QC, and report documentation on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, electrical/instrumentation, civil or other construction projects. The Inspector will report to Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager and may lead other inspectors in completing tasks and providing regular updates on daily construction activities.

Requirements

3 years’ experience in water distribution/sewer collection piping installation and/or repair
Identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to problems
High level of math aptitude
Ability to multi-task several priorities
Solid time management skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, and Outlook)
Employee to work year-round in various weather conditions

Nice To Haves

5 or more years of civil or utility construction inspection experience
Strong background in performing civil and mechanical inspection activities on small to large infrastructure projects
NASSCO certifications such as ITCP, PACP, and MACP
Water Distribution System and/or Wastewater Collection System certifications
ACI or NICET certifications
Erosion and Sediment Control certification
OSHA training—specifically OSHA ‑ 10, Confined Space Entry, and Trenching and Shoring
Active participation in regional or national professional associations

Responsibilities

Observe and inspect construction work performed by contractors
Perform punch list inspections
Review drawings and specifications and other technical documents
Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos
Participate in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews
Maintain quality assurance requirements and approach and monitor code compliance issues
Inspect and determine deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; clearly and professionally inform the contractor of required corrections
Review submittits and other construction documents and recommend technical solutions
Attend and participate in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates and project site coordination meetings
Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, and equipment) for field changes, and time and material work and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes
Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes
Maintain Payment Quantity documentation
Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities
Ensure Arcadis’ project safety guidelines are being met
Local travel will include to project site, client meetings, construction oversight, etc.
