Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Construction Engineering Inspector to assist engineers with the completion of Water/Wastewater and Utility construction projects in Fort Pierce, FL. Requirements

  • Ability to upload, download, and manage files in a Project Management Information System (PMIS), e.g., Procore, eBuilder.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of water/wastewater, stormwater, utilities, and related facilities construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans and codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of roadway infrastructure, including earthwork, asphalt, concrete, drainage, and flatwork, to verify compliance with approved plans and contract documents.
  • Provide field engineering, construction management, and contract support services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) as needed on site and in office.
  • Ensure that construction workmanship and materials adhere to established industry standards and meet project specifications.
  • Accurately document all construction inspection activities by creating daily reports and maintaining organized, detailed, and up-to-date field files.
  • Oversee and coordinate material testing activities to ensure materials used meet project specifications.
  • Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation and other contract administration documentation.
  • Participate in close-out activities, including preparation of punch lists and final inspection reports.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and project teams, including other disciplines such as cost estimators, designers, and other engineers.
  • Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
  • Operate and have the ability to upload, download, and manage files in a Project Management Information System (PMIS), such as Procore or eBuilder.
  • Provide input and participate in client, contractor, and staff progress meetings.
  • Gather and maintain record documents.
  • Make field notes and computations.
  • Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
