About The Position

The Town of Prescott Valley is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Construction Inspector to join our Public Works team. In this hands-on field position, we are looking for someone who brings strong technical judgment, problem-solving skills, and clear communication, and who is comfortable working independently in an active construction environment, while maintaining accurate project records and ensuring work meets approved plans and specifications.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
A minimum of four (4) years’ journey-level experience in public works and utilities construction inspection.
The ability to obtain, and maintain, the following certifications based on department of employment within a year of hiring: NICET certifications for roadway inspection, ATSSA certifications for traffic control
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
Have the ability to be contacted and to respond in a timely manner in an after-hour capacity.

Responsibilities

Review construction plans, materials, testing results, and contractor pay estimates for accuracy and compliance.
Identify construction deficiencies and coordinate with contractors, engineers, developers, and agencies to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate inspection records, project documentation, reports, and punch lists.
Apply strong technical judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills while working independently in an active construction environment.
