About The Position

CTL Engineering is seeking Construction Inspectors | Material Testing Technicians of all experience levels to join their Building Construction Management/Quality Assurance division. This role is crucial for vertical construction projects, with ongoing mentoring and training provided. Opportunities for increased responsibility are available for those interested in career growth. High School and Tech/Trade School graduates or Associate degree holders with a genuine interest in vertical construction are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in vertical construction is a plus but not required. Requirements

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform engineering and construction field-testing.
  • Ability to work in external environment conditions during difficult weather.
  • Ability to work and provide status updates independently.
  • High School, Technical School, or Community College graduate.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience/exposure to vertical construction.
  • Knowledge of engineering, construction, testing and inspection principles is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of materials and lab testing - standard testing and observation methods – is a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction or engineering services is a strong plus.
  • ACI Grade I Concrete Testing Technician (preferred but not required)
  • Associate Degree with 2 years of additional related work experience or Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs construction Construction Inspector/Materials Testing services primarily involving concrete testing, rebar inspection, and other building materials for vertical construction projects (buildings) for municipal and private sector clients.
  • Responsible for testing, inspecting, and reporting on specific aspects of construction works in progress, such as concrete pours, rebar placement, and soils placement as examples.
  • May be responsible for inspection and sampling of construction materials.
  • Performs computations with formulas, plots data, and draws simple curves and graphs.
  • Assists Engineers in field during soil and materials investigations.
  • Ensures that job site tests/observations, including quality control, quality assurance, and verifications are performed in accordance with the standard test/observation methods, project specifications and other contract documents.
  • May perform lab testing and observation of soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Performs inspections for construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for vertical construction work (buildings/facilities).
  • Prepares and maintains project records and reports.
  • Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer of non-conforming work.
