About The Position
Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for an experienced Construction Inspector III to join their Salt Lake City, UT office. This role involves performing construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The company is a recognized industry leader with over 25 accredited laboratories, focusing on infrastructure and supply chain development and maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently
- Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements
- Able to work independently, make routine decisions concerning construction work progress
- Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check
- Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.

Responsibilities
- Following proper procedures
- Completing work in a timely manner
- Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets
- Performing accurate computations
- Maintaining cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
- Help in laboratory testing of materials
- Training technicians and helping grow the Houston Office
- Leading other junior technicians on long-term projects
