About The Position

RK&K Construction Management Team is currently hiring an Inspector with GSI/Stormwater Management construction experience in Philadelphia, PA. Come join our highly respected Construction Management team. RK&K also hires those with related experiences such as contractor, military, and surveyor experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inspection or construction of Green Stormwater Management systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of green infrastructure practices, materials, and maintenance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of stormwater regulations and design standards.
  • Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to pass Criminal History Background Check (CHBC).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of GSI projects, including rain gardens, green roofs, permeable pavements, bioswales, and detention basins.
  • Verify compliance with design specifications, construction drawings, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to environmental protection standards and erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting observations, non-conformances, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of site visits, testing results, and project progress.
  • Communicate findings effectively to project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure materials and construction methods meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Coordinate and review testing of materials, such as soil, vegetation, and permeable materials, for GSI projects.
  • Identify and report deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with contractors, engineers, and landscape architects to resolve field issues.
  • Attend project meetings to provide updates and share insights from inspections.
  • Support the integration of GSI elements with other infrastructure components.
