About The Position

Fisher Associates is seeking Construction Inspectors, Engineering Technicians, and Construction Management Team Members to support transportation and civil construction projects through project management, inspection, and quality assurance. This role is based in New York but offers a stable, long-term opportunity with PennDOT District 3, providing a secured 5-year pipeline of projects for consistent, impactful work.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferred
• Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred
• Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT or NYSDOT experience preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standards
• Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing results
• Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanship
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentation
• Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with PennDOT, NYSDOT, local, and federal requirements
• Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concerns
