About The Position

Fisher Associates is seeking Construction Inspectors, Engineering Technicians, and Construction Management Team Members to support transportation and civil construction projects through project management, inspection, and quality assurance. Based in New York but ready for something more stable? Join a long-term transportation inspection program with PennDOT District 3. Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferred
• Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred
• Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT or NYSDOT experience preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments
• Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standards
• Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing results
• Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanship
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentation
• Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with PennDOT, NYSDOT, local, and federal requirements
• Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concerns
