Requirements

Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction related field and 10+ years of related experience on commercial or heavy construction projects, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience required.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
Must be familiar with construction processes related to area of assignment.
Must be local to the Washington DC area.

Inspection activities are usually concentrated in the electrical area.

Responsibilities

Inspects commercial construction installations to ensure adherence to statutory and customer regulations.
Performs continuing inspection of all items installed by the general contractor.
Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations.
May participate in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
May participate in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
