About The Position

Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for an entry level employees to perform Construction Inspection and Materials Testing in our Bozeman Geotechnical Laboratory. The position will generally be 40 hours per week on average with some overtime on an as-needed basis during busy periods. This position will involve field inspection services and geotechnical /materials testing in the laboratory. Field Inspection services include field density testing using nuclear density gauge, fresh grout and concrete sampling, shotcrete testing and coring. Laboratory testing will include performing Atterbergs, proctors, sieve analysis and numerous other geotechnical soils testing. Other duties will include data management, equipment maintenance, and sample organization.

Requirements

  • Valid Class D driver's license with no driving restrictions.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be able to complete basic computer tasks that include Excel, Microsoft Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Project experience in general construction, field density testing, concrete testing, soil sampling, and materials testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • College education preferred.
  • Field of Study: Civil/Environmental Engineering, Soil Science, or related/equivalent education or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Contractor or Site Supervisor regarding testing results and any failing tests or problems.
  • Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
  • Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
  • Prepare daily field inspection reports that document project activities and data.
  • Conduct materials testing and analysis using provided tools and equipment.
  • Data management, equipment maintenance, and sample organization.
