About The Position

This position supports various aspects of construction and maintenance of outside plant buried cable facilities. This is a temporary summer position working no more than 12 weeks or a total of 480 hours.

Requirements

• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, products and services.
• Knowledge of general telephony plant and construction process and practices.
• Knowledge of time management and organizational skills.
• Skill to operate various office equipment such as a computer, copy machine, fax machine and multi-line telephone.
• Skill to operate various vehicles and construction equipment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and in speaking, with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to work completely and accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in a safe and effective manner.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Strong interest in construction related fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist construction crew with various functions as they relate to the construction and maintenance of outside plant facilities and learn best practices from the team.
• Learn how to put conduit in open trenches and perform such functions as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill job function or as assigned.
