About The Position

The Construction Helper serves as a spotter for lifts, cleans and prepares construction sites, loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment, and assists the crew with a variety of physical labor and construction activities. They must be safety-oriented with a strong work-ethic.

Requirements

Good communication skills – verbal and nonverbal.
Excellent listening skills; able to listen, understand, and follow the instructions of crew and supervisors.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and follow plans and specs.
Working knowledge of proper construction techniques, practices, procedures, and safety requirements.
Effective team player.
Organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail with a focus on error prevention.
Ability to understand, follow, and communicate standard operating policies and procedures, and regulations.
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements in a positive and constructive manner.
All candidates must successfully complete and pass a federally regulated drug screening as a condition of employment. Drug testing will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Previous construction and/or caulking experience.
HS diploma or GED; OR an equivalent combination of training, education and relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Helps prevent accidents by serving as a spotter for lifts on the job site
Cleans and prepares construction sites, materials and tools.
Loads, unloads, and transports materials, tools, and equipment.
Removes and cleans garbage, spills, debris, and other materials from the job site.
Assists with construction tasks including using power tools, caulking, and general cleanup.
Move or position materials and equipment.
Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using tools.
Works safely, following all local, state, and federal laws and regulations and codes pertaining to the scope of work.
Operate heavy machinery and power tools and needed.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE.)
