About The Position

We are seeking a dependable Construction Laborer to join a field crew performing stream, wetland, marsh, and environmental restoration work. This is a hands-on outdoor position for someone who is comfortable with physical labor, changing weather conditions, muddy terrain, and frequent travel. Candidates with backgrounds in construction, landscaping, farming, forestry, utilities, general labor, or other outdoor work are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
Ability to read and understand basic work-related documents.
Willingness to learn new skills and take direction.
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Willingness to travel frequently and work overtime when required.
Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
Perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
Walk and work on uneven, muddy, or rugged terrain.
Regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull.
Use hand tools and equipment throughout the workday.
Maintain the stamina, coordination, and manual dexterity required for outdoor construction work.

Nice To Haves

Previous stream restoration experience is helpful but not required.
Previous experience in general construction, landscaping, forestry, farming or agricultural work, utility construction, erosion and sediment control, site preparation, stream or wetland restoration, environmental construction.
Trade school or technical training.
Experience with GPS machine grade control is also a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor for construction, maintenance, and environmental restoration projects.
Work as part of a crew on stream, wetland, and site restoration projects.
Prepare jobsites and assist with daily project setup.
Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials.
Use hand tools, including sledgehammers and other construction tools.
Install restoration and erosion-control materials, including: Coir matting, Wooden stakes, Filter fabric, Safety fencing, Silt fencing.
Spread seed and straw during site restoration.
Assist crew members with setting up bypass pumps and other equipment.
Communicate with equipment operators and crew members using hand signals.
Complete multiple assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures.
