About The Position

Corrosion Service Company Limited (CSCL) is seeking a Construction Foreman to lead field teams in executing construction-based projects. This role involves ensuring project objectives and standards are met, planning projects to exceed objectives, and completing them on time and within budget. The Foreman will be responsible for in-field training and development of construction team members, building client relationships, and contributing to project documentation such as schedules, work breakdown structures, RFIs, and cost savings recommendations. The role also involves working with project managers on change management processes, tracking project schedules, and providing feedback on project health, budget, schedule, and resource requirements. Ensuring adherence to safety requirements and actively supporting corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies are critical aspects of this position. The Foreman will prioritize work assignments in alignment with branch objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of NACE CP1 designation or higher.
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in cathodic corrosion installation activity.
  • Good oral and written skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • 5+ years site management experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Skilled at solving conflict between different project members and staff.
  • Requires limited supervision executing low and medium complexity on-site construction scopes.
  • Familiar with safe work practices and policies for applicable construction activities.
  • Should be considered the subject matter expert (SME) regarding ground disturbance and general construction activities.
  • Advanced understanding of contractor management and coordination of activities on-site.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Leading field teams to execute construction-based projects.
  • Ensuring all project objectives and standards are met, and finding solutions to problems.
  • Planning projects to meet and exceed all objectives, and ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Identifying crucial aspects of the project, prioritizing them, and managing all other aspects.
  • Responsible for the in-field training, support, and development of construction team members.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients and inspectors.
  • Contributing to, reviewing, and/or revising schedules, work breakdown structure (WBS), Requests for Information (RFI), Sub-Contractor RFPs, and cost savings recommendations.
  • Working with project managers to follow and maintain project documents and information as per Quality Assurance Procedure, Project Management Process, and Control of Documents Procedure.
  • Working with project managers to follow projects’ change management processes, both internally and externally, to capture changes to design, costs, and schedule.
  • Contributing to the development and tracking of project schedules and milestones, including progress reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback to management regarding project health, budget, and schedule, as well as updates and manpower, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensuring field staff are aware of all internal and external safety requirements, as they pertain to worksites or clients, are adhered to.
  • Actively participating in and supporting corporate Health, Safety and Environment policies and ensuring that project team members have adequate training for their assigned roles as well as their compliance with CSCL HSE initiatives.
  • Prioritizing work assignments in alignment with branch objectives.
