About The Position

For over 65 years, Penn-co Construction has been building projects that make a lasting impact across Manitoba, Ontario, and Northern Canada. We're looking for experienced Foreman to lead our construction crews, deliver quality work safely, and help shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople on our Northern projects, specifically in Nunavut on a 21/7 rotation. Requirements

  • Red Seal Carpenter certification or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive commercial construction experience, including concrete work
  • Proven experience supervising construction crews
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote projects as required

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership on site while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Penn-co's high standards.
  • Lead concrete and general construction crews on commercial projects.
  • Plan daily work activities and coordinate labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Create and maintain crew schedules.
  • Ensure projects are adequately staffed and team members are prepared for daily work.
  • Supervise concrete placement, formwork, finishing, and overall workmanship.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges or delays.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings and communicate project goals and safety expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate jobsite risks.
  • Resolve issues professionally while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Mentor and develop crew members.
  • Maintain accurate site reports and documentation.
