About The Position

The Foreman is responsible for directing the field operations for their assigned project(s), assists and supports the Superintendent with implementing/planning the field workforce, coordination, safety, scheduling, housekeeping, material/equipment ordering, handling and site storage. Recommending and implementing production efficiencies, quality improvement, safety improvement, purchasing controls, scheduling, manpower/equipment efficiencies, coordination, document control, record keeping and reporting. Develop and train field personnel in tasks necessary for the successful completion of their assigned work. Identify, mentor and train potential future foremen and crew leaders. Comply/implement the company policies and procedures. Supervise/direct/coordinate the project field labor and equipment. Build/improve/maintain effective relationships with clients, inspectors, field personnel, subcontractors and suppliers. Serve as the key Company field representative. Comply with all safety policies, procedures and standards. Supervise, plan, schedule the loading, unloading of materials, tools and any variety of equipment. Supervise grading and excavations so that they are performed in a safe manner and implement all safety measures for the protection of field personnel. Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines. Supervise and/or perform clean-up of jobsites. Operate heavy/light duty truck(s) or machinery as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or management. Implement and maintain project schedule. Document daily productions, quantities, time and materials and/or potential risks/hazards. Adhere to all company safety policies and always maintain proper use of required PPE (hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, etc.).

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Requires the knowledge of simple math and be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Must be able to set grade and/or slopes, read and understand survey staking.
  • Must possess the knowledge/ability to supervise and coordinate activities of workers and is an essential in preparing the layout, construction and/or installation to complete the scope of work.
  • Possess the knowledge to coordinate and supervise the sequence of activities and any subcontractor forces.
  • Possess the knowledge to inspect the work of subcontractors to insure conformance to blueprints, specifications and applicable Municipal/Entity/State regulations.
  • Must have computer skills and the ability to complete administrative tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in civil, commercial and/or residential construction.
  • Possesses the knowledge/ability for the civil grading and paving.
  • Is able to problem solve and can adapt quickly as situations arise.
