About The Position

Gallagher Bassett is seeking motivated professionals to join our specialized Construction Investigation Team. Unlike traditional investigator positions, this role provides the opportunity to develop expertise in construction-related claims and losses while supporting some of the nation's largest contractors, insurance carriers, and risk management programs. As a Construction Field Investigator, you will conduct on-site investigations, gather and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, document accident scenes, and prepare detailed reports that help clients determine the facts surrounding construction incidents and claims. This position combines field work with independent case management and offers a unique opportunity to develop highly sought-after industry expertise.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of field investigation, claims investigation, construction-related, or similar investigative experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and detailed investigative reports
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable, insured personal vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Construction claims investigation experience
  • Construction industry, safety, or project management experience
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Notary Public commission
  • Bilingual Spanish or additional language skills
  • Experience conducting witness interviews, scene documentation, and evidence collection

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site investigations involving construction-related incidents and claims
  • Obtain written and recorded statements from involved parties and witnesses
  • Document accident scenes through photographs, measurements, diagrams, and detailed notes
  • Identify, collect, and preserve relevant evidence and facts
  • Conduct witness interviews and locate involved parties
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative reports
  • Manage an assigned caseload independently and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of case activity, time, and expenses
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs
