About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Construction Field Engineering Intern to join our Oklahoma City, OK office. This role involves assisting in the review of engineering drawings and specifications under supervision. The intern will participate in engineering investigations and planning by completing well-defined tasks, which may include data collection and analysis, routine calculations, and evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions. Responsibilities also include preparing sections of reports, reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications, assisting with recordkeeping and progress reports, observing on-site construction procedures, and collecting samples for quality control testing. The intern will perform data acquisition and analysis, research design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory specifications. Additionally, they will prepare material for reports and permit applications, perform engineering calculations, and conduct field observations of construction as needed. The intern will also perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have completed 30 hours towards a related degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation

Responsibilities

• Assists in the review of engineering drawings.
• Under supervisions, carries out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks.
• Prepares assigned sections of reports working under the close review of an experienced professional.
• Participates on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications.
• Assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports.
• Observes on-site construction procedures.
• Collects samples for quality control testing.
• Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
