Construction Estimator
About The Position
An established construction company in Woodland Hills is looking for a Construction Estimator. This role requires the individual to work out of the Corporate office in Woodland Hills and possess self-perform structural concrete experience, general contracting experience, and experience with Multi-Family podium projects and Design/Build Long-span Parking Structures. The position involves detailed quantity take-offs, preparing complete project estimates, and general conditions estimates. Responsibilities also include monitoring cost trends to identify over-runs and potential problem areas, participating in the value engineering process, and developing/updating estimating databases. The role requires interfacing with subcontractors, suppliers, upper management, operations personnel, clients, and potential clients, as well as following up on proposals, preconstruction activities, and assisting in staff development. Other duties may be directed by management.
Requirements
- Proven ability to develop estimating strategies and procedures
- Good subcontractors and supplier’s relationships
- Abreast of market activity to help position the company for strategic opportunities, and to win projects
- Proven ability to develop and expand networks and relationships quickly and within a multitude of settings
- Direct experience driving the development of project proposals and interviews
- Ability to understand and articulate the company’s strategy in various ways
- Strong communication abilities; including presentation skills (verbal and written)
