About The Position

The Construction Estimator is the financial and structural architect of our rebuild projects. Spanning both insurance restoration and retail construction, this role is responsible for inspecting damaged properties, writing highly accurate and profitable scopes of work, and supporting the construction sales process. You are the bridge between the insurance adjuster, the homeowner, and the Spartan Project Manager. By producing fast, precise estimates, fiercely negotiating supplements, and driving retail upgrade sales, you set the baseline budget that allows our field teams to execute flawlessly and maintain our strict 40% minimum Gross Profit.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in reconstruction, restoration, general contracting, or construction estimating.
  • Proven track record of performing property inspections, taking precise measurements, and documenting structural damages.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Strong proficiency in Xactimate (writing both insurance and retail/bidding formats).
  • Experience utilizing DocuSketch, Matterport, or similar 3D spatial rendering technologies.
  • Deep proficiency in Albi (or similar restoration CRMs) as a project management and financial tracking tool.
  • Deep understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, material grading, and the sequencing of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) trades.
  • Professional composure and emotional intelligence to negotiate aggressively with adjusters and smoothly sell upgrades to homeowners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Accurate & Profitable Project Scopes: Conduct property inspections, complete project documentation and 3D scans, prepare detailed estimates, and ensure all opportunities are captured to maximize profitability.
  • Manage Insurance Negotiations & Supplements: Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers, negotiate scopes, submit supplements, and maintain alignment between approved estimates and project budgets.
  • Drive Customer Satisfaction & Revenue Growth: Guide homeowners through the estimating process, communicate pricing and timelines, identify upgrade opportunities, and manage change orders for out-of-scope work.
  • Support Seamless Project Execution: Partner with Project Managers to ensure smooth project handoffs, provide ongoing estimating support throughout construction, and maintain accurate documentation in company systems.
