About The Position

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, with a strong emphasis on ground-up construction & interior renovations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in construction estimating, particularly in "bricks and sticks" estimating, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to develop competitive and well-informed bids.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on ground-up construction, interior renovations, and data centers.
  • Proven expertise in "bricks and sticks" estimating, including structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Timberline, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with internal teams, clients, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for a variety of construction projects, including ground-up developments, interior renovations, and data centers.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to determine materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and scope information.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, historical pricing records, and unit cost trends to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, bid reviews, and value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for alternative construction methods or materials.
  • Ensure estimates align with project schedules, client expectations, and budget constraints.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor bids, ensuring completeness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in contract negotiations, scope review, and change order management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and material price fluctuations to refine estimating strategies.
