About The Position

Cleveland Brothers is seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Shop Technician for shop work on diesel engines, construction equipment, and supporting equipment. The position focuses on diesel engine and mechanical repairs for customers in the mining, construction, and paving industries. The company provides training and specialty tools to support technicians in the role. The successful candidate will operate and maintain earthmoving and construction equipment, diagnose and repair equipment independently, and overhaul engines and other major components. Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills are important, with customer satisfaction a primary concern. This is a safety-sensitive position in an industrial environment with exposure to significant environmental conditions.

Requirements

Relevant work experience; the company accepts experience from technical schools, military backgrounds, and/or job experience.
Previous experience working on heavy equipment.
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
Intermediate computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good human relations skills and the ability to communicate and solve problems with customers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Good motor coordination and coordination of eyes, hands, and feet.
Ability to meet physical requirements including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose and repair equipment.
Overhaul engines and other major components.
Operate and maintain earthmoving and construction equipment.
Communicate and problem-solve with customers while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Work overtime as needed.
