This position performs a wide variety of planning, project management, construction, and operations activities, including emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis. The role involves coordinating various Distribution, Substation, and Transmission Line Construction projects, preparing construction contracts, schedules, cost tracking, progress reporting, and project team coordination. It requires providing engineering field technical support, technical reviews of design packages, and participating in planning and scoping sessions. The engineer will manage the entire capital work process, including scheduling, outage coordination, estimating, resource identification, contract development, safety enforcement, quality assurance, invoice processing, as-built completion, and project closeout. The engineer must foster a safe, quality, and productive work environment and interface with multiple organizations to identify and mitigate safety hazards, ensure environmental stewardship, develop project scopes and estimates, create construction sequence plans and schedules, perform constructability reviews, track materials, request proposals, coordinate schedules, resolve deficiencies, and report costs. The time allotment is comprised of support of the capital work management process (40%), compilation of the project and construction execution plan (40%), and field inspection for scoping and adjustments (20%).
