About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Construction Engineer to work on innovative, multi-disciplinary design projects for high-profile state agencies and large municipalities. This role involves managing all phases of project execution, including project organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting, in close collaboration with inspectors/technicians, construction managers, and other technical experts. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 3+ years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • 1 - 2 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Responsibilities

  • Create proposals, schedules, and budgets for projects.
  • Interact with client stakeholders and coordinate workload with construction management staff.
  • Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subcontractor/vendor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.
  • Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, adhering to company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and driving customer value.
  • Oversee pursuits, designate appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address client concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external teams of clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on a program of construction management projects striving for continuous improvement in process development and execution.
  • Devise innovative and creative solutions to problems encountered.
