About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Construction Director to join our valued client's team in Saint-Constant, Quebec. This is a full-time contract position running approximately 32 months on a major industrial construction project in the cement manufacturing sector. This role suits a senior construction leader with strong experience managing complex industrial projects, ideally within cement manufacturing, heavy industrial facilities, or large mechanical and civil infrastructure environments. Specific experience with cooling tower construction is a strong asset. The successful candidate will lead site construction activities, manage contractors, coordinate schedules, control cost and quality, and communicate effectively in French with project teams, client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Significant senior-level construction management experience
  • Proven experience leading large industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, sequencing, contractor management, and field execution
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, construction documents, and project schedules
  • Strong safety leadership and commitment to field-level execution
  • Strong communication skills in French
  • Availability to work on-site in Saint-Constant, Quebec for the project duration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cement manufacturing, mining, industrial processing, or similar heavy industry
  • Cooling tower construction experience
  • Engineering, construction management, or trade background
  • English language ability

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction execution for the project from planning through completion
  • Oversee civil, structural, mechanical, and related construction activities
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams, and provide leadership to site supervisors and coordinators
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards
  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, manpower, equipment, and materials, and review drawings, construction plans, and work packages
  • Identify risks, delays, and field issues early and drive practical solutions
  • Maintain strong communication with client representatives and stakeholders, and support progress reporting and change management
  • Support cost control and productivity tracking, and ensure compliance with site safety, environmental standards, and regulatory obligations
