Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician, preferably in a construction or heavy equipment setting.
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mobile equipment diagnostics.
• Must be dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently or with a team.

Nice To Haves

• technical training or certifications in diesel or heavy equipment repair preferred.
• ability to obtain DOT Medical Card (CDL a plus).
• Ability to weld, fabricate, or perform basic fabrication repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and transmissions. Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues and make data-driven repairs.
• Perform scheduled PMs on construction equipment and fleet vehicles to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life. Conduct inspections of tires, fluid levels, filters, and wear components using checklists and OEM guidelines.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns on job sites and perform field-based repairs quickly and safely. Communicate with operators and supervisors to assess issues and determine repair priorities.
• Maintain and repair a wide range of equipment including: Excavators, dozers, loaders, pavers, rollers, dump trucks, trailers, and company trucks. Flex between shop work and field support based on operational needs.
• Accurately record maintenance activities, inspections, and parts used in service software or paper logs. Follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times. Support DOT and OSHA compliance through proper recordkeeping and safe practices.
