About The Position

As a Construction Design Engineer, you’ll go beyond traditional design work and play a key role in how projects actually get built. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll support complex construction efforts across the Midwest, including rail transit, bridges, and industrial projects. This is a unique opportunity to work on the temporary works and construction engineering side — solving real-time challenges, supporting field execution, and seeing your designs come to life in the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Interest in construction engineering, structural design, or temporary works
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Design falsework for temporary structure support
• Design temporary bridges for construction access
• Design hydraulic systems for vertical / horizontal travel
• Design cofferdams and other soil retention systems
• Bridge analysis for construction equipment and demolition procedures
• Bridge analysis for steel/concrete beam erection stability
• Wood/steel formwork design for concrete slabs and walls
• Analysis of lifting equipment (hoists and rigging)
• Analysis and design of safety systems
• Analysis for barge stability under construction equipment loading
• Provide clear construction and shop drawings using CAD
