About The Position

The Crew Leader is responsible for leading and training new hires and technicians, managing equipment and materials, and performing various construction and irrigation tasks. This role requires effective communication with team members, supervisors, and clients, as well as maintaining a professional and organized approach to work. The Crew Leader will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as completing reports, managing purchase orders, and conducting performance evaluations.

Requirements

• Demonstrate full competence in all Construction Technician Level III tasks.
• Possess a valid California Driver License.
• Be authorized to drive by the company’s insurance.
• Complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (for F350 vehicle or larger operators).

Responsibilities

• Lead and train new hires and technicians at all levels.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
• Maintain a professional, confident, and organized approach to work.
• Use a smartphone for communication, reporting, and documentation.
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and materials.
• Conduct equipment inventory and ensure proper usage and maintenance.
• Operate tractors and perform machine trenching.
• Purchase materials using purchase orders and work orders.
• Complete material use reports and ensure correct materials are used.
• Pick up materials from vendors or designated locations.
• Install and program irrigation controllers.
• Perform irrigation repairs with 100% proficiency.
• Install wood lattice and read hardscape plans accurately.
• Complete vehicle inspection and accident reports as needed.
• Safely drive trucks and trailers.
• Submit chemical use reports in compliance with regulations.
• Conduct performance evaluations for crew members.
• Review and sign timecards for accurate time reporting.
