About The Position

The Construction Coordinator is an on-site lead responsible for subcontractor management, safety, and daily site operations for the FTTH Underground Drilling project in Kent, WA. This role reports directly to the Project Manager (PM) and serves to support the PM by managing the subcontractor crew, overseeing daily site operations, conducting morning meetings, ensuring safety compliance, and providing the PM with necessary information for project management. The primary focus is on the subcontractor crew's performance, productivity, and quality of work, ensuring they are assigned daily tasks, held accountable for their output, and their work is inspected daily. The role also involves leading morning meetings to cover work assignments, safety topics, and material needs, and acting as the on-site safety lead to ensure crews work safely and adhere to protocols. Additionally, the Construction Coordinator identifies and reports material needs to the PM, coordinates day-to-day equipment for subcontractors, and ensures smooth coordination between crews when working in shared areas. All procurement and communication with the client (Valhalla/Ezee Fiber) must go through the PM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the subcontractor crew day-to-day, monitoring their performance, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Assign daily work to the subcontractor crew, ensuring clarity on tasks, locations, and expectations.
  • Track the sub crew's output throughout the day and identify/address reasons for falling behind.
  • Inspect the subcontractor crew's work daily to verify footage, installation quality, and workmanship.
  • Report the sub crew's daily production numbers to the PM every day.
  • Lead daily morning meetings for the sub crew, covering work areas, safety topics, material/equipment needs, and coordination.
  • Act as the on-site safety lead, ensuring crews work safely and wear PPE.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks as necessary.
  • Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols and address non-compliance immediately.
  • Report any safety incidents to the PM immediately and document details.
  • Identify subcontractor material needs and communicate them to the PM in advance.
  • Ensure subcontractor equipment is on site and ready to work daily.
  • Coordinate with the PM to ensure no duplication, conflict, or gap between crews working in shared areas.
  • Assist with tasks outside of subcontractor management as directed by the PM.
