About The Position

Homebound is looking for a Construction Coordinator to assist project management and field teams in coordinating residential construction project activities throughout the LA marketplace. The Construction Coordinator will be a key team support member responsible for coordinating ongoing activities on multiple, simultaneous residential construction projects throughout both Altadena and the Pallisades. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication abilities and skills to prioritize activities to complete tasks effectively. This is an opportunity to help drive Homebound's Los Angeles wildfire rebuild efforts and provide essential housing solutions to support the community's recovery from the Altadena and Palisades fires. Homebound has a proven track record of successfully helping to rebuild communities after natural disasters, having supported recovery efforts in six disaster affected markets to date. Candidates must be based in Los Angeles, CA to be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of experience in the construction industry (e.g., plumber, framer, sheetrock installer, customer service representative, project coordinator, design center representative, realtor, and/or project engineer).
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for basic data entry and tracking.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience operating small tools and equipment.
  • Ability to unload job-site deliveries (up to 40 lbs).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Procore preferred
  • Experience working with city officials is preferred.
  • Construction Certification (OSHA, LEAD, etc.) preferred
  • Experience operating a skid loader or excavator is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the construction operations department with scheduling meetings, creating meeting notes, and performing other admin functions.
  • Provide admin and project document support to field superintendents and projects managers.
  • Provide project accounting support to obtain lien releases and process invoices.
  • Monitor and update company systems and online tools for tracking progress.
  • Work closely with field staff to maintain job-site cleanliness through our vendors.
  • Provide scheduling support for Homebound’s pre-construction process (scheduling demolition of homes, chemical injections and testing of soil conditions, ensuring utilities are disconnected, meeting grade crew, conducting lot checklist for the Lot Acquisition team, etc.).
  • Assist in submitting project documents for permit approval.
  • Coordinate with the city planning department to set up utilities for homes under construction.
  • May assist with warranty tickets for the market, perform home owner orientations, assist with punch list completion and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
