About The Position

The Construction Coordinator is an on-site lead responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and overseeing daily site operations. This role acts as the direct supervisor for the subcontractor crew, focusing on their performance, productivity, and quality of work. The Coordinator is responsible for assigning daily tasks, tracking progress, conducting daily inspections, and reporting production numbers to the Project Manager (PM). They also lead morning meetings to brief the crew on the day's objectives, safety concerns, and material needs. As the on-site safety lead, the Coordinator must ensure all crew members adhere to safety regulations and conduct daily safety briefings. Additionally, they identify and communicate material needs to the PM and coordinate equipment availability. During the shared overlap phase, close coordination with the PM is required to prevent conflicts between different crews working on the same map.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the subcontractor crew day-to-day, monitoring their performance, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Assign daily work to the subcontractor crew, ensuring clarity on tasks, locations, and expectations.
  • Track the sub crew's output throughout the day and implement corrective actions if they fall behind.
  • Inspect the subcontractor crew's work daily to verify footage, installation quality, and workmanship.
  • Report the sub crew's daily production numbers to the PM every day.
  • Lead necessary morning meetings for the sub crew, covering work assignments, safety topics, material needs, and coordination.
  • Ensure crews are working safely and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks, increasing frequency if issues are repeated.
  • Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols at all times and address non-compliance immediately.
  • Report any safety incidents to the PM immediately and document the details.
  • Identify and communicate material needs of the subcontractor crew to the PM in advance.
  • Ensure subcontractor equipment is on site and ready to work daily.
  • Coordinate with the PM to ensure no duplication, conflict, or gap between crews working in shared areas.
  • Transition focus to a dedicated sub crew map as maps are divided.
