About The Position

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. is a United States-domiciled minerals exploration company focused on developing mines from deposits primarily located in the United States. The company aims to support American supply chain independence by discovering and delivering copper and other critical metals essential for advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, and national security. Utilizing its Typhoon™ geophysical surveying system and advanced data analytics from its subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc. (“CGI”), Ivanhoe Electric seeks to accelerate and de-risk mineral exploration. The company believes the U.S. is underexplored and has potential for major critical metal discoveries, focusing on copper, nickel, cobalt, platinum group elements, gold, and silver. The Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona is a key project. Ivanhoe Electric also has a joint venture with Saudi Arabian Mining Company ("Maaden") and an exploration alliance with BHP Mineral Resources Inc. (“BHP”).

Requirements

  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE for tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of construction execution plans, schedules, and work packages.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly construction activities across multiple work fronts.
  • Participate in pre-mobilization meetings, daily toolbox, and weekly coordination meetings.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for constructability.
  • Assist in forecasting labor, equipment, and material needs.
  • Support progress verification and field measurement for pay applications.
  • Monitor field construction activities for adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and identify risks.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the Construction Superintendent in managing work fronts and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate multiple contractors and subcontractors working concurrently on site.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with mine safety regulations.
  • Participate in Job Hazard Analyses, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
  • Ensure contractors meet site access, training, and permitting requirements.
  • Enforce MSHA regulations, site safety standards, and project safety plans.
  • Verify construction work meets engineering and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily progress, material usage, and workforce levels.
  • Support development and review of Inspection Test Plans and quality checklists.
  • Track and report deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Verify contractor manpower, equipment, and material availability.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions; stop work when required.
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
